Description

The Jellyfish Beach Set is designed to neutralize stinging cells that are superficially present on the skin after jellyfish contact, using a liquid (Sea Acetum), and to cool and soothe the skin with a gel (Sea Gel). Upon contact with a jellyfish, stinging capsules are transferred and adhere to the skin due to the surrounding mucus. Initial contact triggers a small portion of the stinging capsules. The barb contained within these stinging capsules penetrates the epidermis and causes painful symptoms due to the released toxin. The majority of the stinging capsules remain intact and lie superficially on the skin. By moistening the skin with the Sea Acetum liquid, these remaining intact stinging capsules are neutralized, allowing them to be removed and further injury to be reduced.
